When most people think of techno they jump to 1 of 2 assumptions.
- the uninformed person starts a ridiculous repetitive, umps duh umps duh umps duh umps duh duh (x1billion)
- Casual person may refer to a song that they have herd before but are not very familiar with, example Darudes Sandstorm; Daft Punks One More Time.
but honestly there is very little difference between an electronica artist and the work done by the average producer, except…. Unlike, even some of the people who make some of the sickest beats in the hip hop industry. The work of artist like BT, Benny Benassi, Eric Pryds and others their is not rapper who will take the focus off their work.
And all true artists will perform their work live, so they must work that much harder to ensure that their music can entertain massive clubs/warehouses full of drugged out persons who can easily turn violent should the music start to suck.
Daft Punk is an artist that is in many way the face of a genre, that is largely unknown by many. This is one of the best performances ive ever seen at the Grammys.
